Parade Watching Mock Tip #1

Make sure that you face the street when attempting to watch the parade; facing away from the street may cause you to miss most of the action and make the crowd laugh at you.

Parade Watching Mock Tip #2

Free, convenient parking is available in the police station lot since most of the patrol cars will be out patrolling the city. Other possibilities include handicapped spaces and in the middle of the road on Colorado Blvd, anywhere from Orange Grove east through Sierra Madre Blvd.

Parade Watching Mock Tip #3

Find a good spot to view the parade by elbowing your way in front of children. They are too intimidated to complain. If they don't, just try to stare them down.

Parade Watching Mock Tip #4

Stay home and watch the parade on television; no hassles, you're in a nice, warm room, and you can change the channel and watch Oprah if you want.

Parade Watching Mock Tip #5

The mounds of trash left on the street after the parade provide a great way to get rid of some of the garbage you have at home--just bring as much as you can in large trash sacks and dump it onto the streets as the parade breaks up.

Parade Watching Mock Tip #6

Many people aren't watching their personal belongings during the parade, especially when something exciting is going by. This is the best time to snatch a great digital camera or expensive purse left on a seat.

Parade Watching Mock Tip #7

If you're fast enough, you can beat the "pooper scoopers" to the piles of treasure left in the wake of numerous majestic parading horses. This "superstuff" is ideal molding material, especially when fresh. Your kids will find that it is better than the commercially available "Play-Doh" for making their creations.

Parade Watching Mock Tip #8

The post-parade street is a cornucopia of food and drink. Those in the know can feast on hamburgers, chicken, soft drinks, beer, and other half-eaten goodies.
